So many people have contacted me about Lyme Disease. It seems to be an epidemic in the USA, Australia, the UK... around the world.
One lady - let's call her Emily, from Western Australia - said this to me,
"It's been an absolute nightmare needing care from my family for most of this time.
Lyme disease is such a complex illness but I haven't ever been as ill as I have these past 7 months. I am only just gaining the mental cognition and physicality of writing, otherwise this letter to you would of come long before now.
...I was struggling mentally with the grind of being so ill and unable to get out of bed and care for myself. The symptoms I have endured during this time have been sheer torture. I did want to die at times...
Finally I'm starting to make some progress and manage to get out of bed for small periods of the day doing a few small tasks within the home. It's baby steps and I can only hope and pray that I'm heading for a remission period very soon."
This is what prompted me to find out more and write this post.
I've spoken to many people with opinions on Lyme's over the last 5 years. Emily's desperation touched me deeply and spurred me to act.
So what are the symptoms of Lyme's Disease and more importantly, what are the right treatments?
Most people don't know that, according to Lyme specialists, Lyme is carried by more than just deer ticks. According to one expert,
"Lyme is carried by 80% now of all biting insects in the world - certainly not just ticks! Mosquitos, horse flies, fleas and most chronic illnesses have Lyme behind them."
This same specialist goes on to say,
"I have just been with two of the top experts in the world on Lyme and Antibiotics are not the answer. They can help in some instances, but people are not aware that the spyrochetes can encyst for ten years or more. So if you give antibiotics they just encyst and come out again at a later date.
"Lyme has been prevalent for the last ten years or more with new co-infections being discovered every year. It has been pandemic in the world for a very long time... and there is a huge amount of ignorance.
"I am working with protocols devised by the world experts that have been proven to work.
You have to kill the spyrochetes, you have to deal with the fall out, you have to address the heavy metal toxicity, you have to deal with the viruses and mold... there are ways of doing it which work.
The biggest thing is to address the biofilm (because) if you do not deal with this, they will never be well and the normal things do not work for this."
If you have Lyme Disease, there are two ways you can move forwards:
The conventional route:
1. Arrange with your Doctor to take a minimum 2 week, maximum 4 week course of antibiotics - and not miss a single day.
2. On the same day you start the antibiotics, commit to starting 2,000mg of Beta Glucan 400 capsules and not miss a single day.
According to Dr Chris Hertzog, anti-aging specialist renowned for his work on Beta Glucan,
"It is the most powerful immune enhancer yet discovered.
As we grow older, our immune levels in the body decrease. In some cases, this is artificially induced, as when a patient is put on steroids, resulting in a marked fall in immunity, which needs to be corrected.
"In trial after trial, it has been found that it can help to combat cancer, help in the fight against HIV / AIDS, arthritis, Lupus, M.E, fibromyalgia, radiation sickness, sunburn, and is one of the only products that can help in both bacterial and viral infections, such as the common cold, influenza, H1N1 Swine flu and numerous other similar conditions.
It works best in prevention though it is becoming used more frequently in a remedial capacity as well. Although the recommended general overall preventative daily dose should be between 250 to 400 mg of a good quality Beta Glucan product, usually in capsule form, it is now being used by some doctors treating cancer and other serious conditions, up to 3,000 mg per day. It can be safely used in conjunction with other medication and treatments."
The problem with the conventional route is that it only appears effective if the majority of the spyrochetes have first been killed. Otherwise they protect themselves by forming a biofilm (a bit like sealing themselves into a plastic bag), wait for the antibiotics to wear off then come back again with a vengeance.
The alternative route:
Contact a Lyme specialist, for example Lilias Ahmeira at www.liliasahmeira.com
Lilias Ahmeira offers consultation by Skype and she works with people all over the world. The charge is £75.00 per hour and the first Skype session lasts for 2 hours including all the testing and coming up with a sensible solution to go forwards, having looked at everything that we can that is going on.
Lilias Ahmeira has international practices based in the UK with clients referred to her by respected Harley Street specialists, Physios and Doctors. Lyme can be very complex and it is something she has a deep knowledge of, having worked with Dr Klinghardt for many years.
Whichever you choose, also address these extra priorities:
3. Get your home checked for mould, if you haven't already, and get rid of any that's around. Lemon Myrtle can be useful for this - here's an example of what you might want to use: frogshop.com.au/mould-spray-our-eco-home-500ml.
4. Drink a lot of water and eat very healthily food, mainly unprocessed and plant based, vegetables more than fruits, including nuts and seeds
5. Take premium supplements such as AminoBoosters and Beta Glucan.
It's essential to also take premium vitamin and mineral supplements as your food is deficient. How to tell if your vitamins and minerals are worth taking? One way to make sure the ingredients in your vitamin/mineral supplement are right is to check these particular vitamins and minerals for quality:
- B6 - don't use Pyridoxine HCL - instead use P-5-P
- Folate - don't use Folic Acid - instead use 5-MTHF
- B12 - don't use Cyanocobalamin - instead use Methylcobalamin
- K - don't use Phylloquinone - instead use K2
- Magnesium - don't use Magnesium Oxide - instead use Magnesium Bis-Glycine Chelate
- Zinc - don't use Zinc Sulfate - instead use Zinc Bis-Glycine Chelate
The ones you don't want to use (eg Pyridoxine HCL for B6) are cheap and are not properly absorbed by the body. The ones you do want to use (eg P-5-P version of B6) are activated vitamins/chelated minerals which means they can be properly absorbed by your body.
6. Avoid gluten and dairy
7. Move as much as you can especially stretching
8. Take an far infra red sauna as frequently as possible, at least twice a week, for at least 30 minutes up to 60 minutes. Ideally take niacin (eg as in NeuraBoost) 2-3 hours prior and engage in 30 minutes exercise before your sauning.
There's more you can do but the above are mission-critical.
We have a limited amount of Beta Glucan 400 capsules. Dr Chris Hertzog who supplies this to us says,
"As far as Beta Glucan (BG), is concerned, I am a great believer with anything new in the supplement field, to take an impact dose to begin with then level off.
I travel a lot and attend a large number of meetings, therefore really need as high an immune level as I can get. I am taking 1,200 mg per day at the moment raised to 2,000 mg when I am on an aircraft, 97% of which recirculate their onboard air, germs and all. After 3 weeks at 1,200 mg impact dose, I would reduce to 800 mg for best possible effect."
One bottle lasts 1-2 months at the recommend dose. Taking 2,000 mg per day, 1 bottle will last 12 days.
